Big Picture Gallery & Studio Course Contract:

Thank you for booking a class with Big Picture! Our studio is a very special place and we are excited you chose to learn and create with us!  Adhering to the following contract will ensure our staff is able to provide you with a lovely experience.

ARRIVAL & PICK-UP

  • Early Arrival: In order to provide the best programming possible for all of our students, we ask that students arrive on time. Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes before your scheduled class. Doors will not be unlocked prior to that time.

    • Should your student need to arrive early due to transportation needs, we ask that they sit quietly in the orange chairs at the front, or at the front drawing table. They are welcome to draw with the paper and markers provided while they are waiting for their class to begin.

  • Late Arrival: If you are more than 10 minutes late we ask that you not attend that class, as instruction and demonstration will be underway and accommodating late students will be disruptive to the environment.

    • If you know in advance you are going to be more than 10 minutes late (for example a dentist/ doctor appointment) please discuss this with an instructor prior to the class date and we will arrange a make-up time.

COURSE MAKE-UPS:
Students will be allowed to make-up missed classes under the following circumstances:

  1. The student was ill, and the studio was informed via email, text or voicemail prior to their scheduled class

  2. The absence and make-up time were prearranged with the studio before the date of the missed class

PARTICIPANTS

  • Space is limited to 18 students per course, in order ensure each child receives individual attention from the instructor.

  • Grade levels are suggested, please feel free to enroll your child in the class that best fits their needs and levels. If the time that works for your child’s age group is not available, they can be enrolled into a class that fits your schedule. The studio director will work with your child to differentiate the course curriculum to meet your child’s needs.

SEVERE WEATHER CANCELLATION POLICY:
If the Iowa City Community School District cancels classes or has an early dismissal, we will assess the situation as it pertains to our classes and notify parents if class is canceled. If you do not receive an email that classes are canceled, then we are open! We will do our best to accommodate make-up sessions if we cancel due to weather, but can not guarantee this.
