Summer Camps 2024
Camp Descriptions
Ceramics
Explore clay through a variety of hand-building methods including: pinch, slab, and coil. Learn additive and subtractive sculptural techniques and practice decorative techniques such as incising. Projects will be glazed on the final day of camp, and then fired in our ceramic kiln. Projects will be ready for pick up approximately 2 weeks after camp
3D & Mixed Media
Build design skill through collage, mixed media, recycled, and found objects. These processes provide endless opportunities for creativity. We will experiment with the combination of different media and develop skill in cutting and glueing. 3D & Mixed Media is an excellent way to learn about composition and how to use the elements of art and principles of design to create visually attractive work.
Drawing & Printmaking
Create beautiful drawings and prints using a wide variety of art media.
For Drawing, we will be working in: oil crayon, colored pencil, soft pastel, marker, pen, and pencil. Students will improve their skills when drawing from observation as well as drawing from imagination. We will learn and practice shading techniques and color application methods.
Students will also learn about the concept of print-making and techniques such as relief printing, mono-printing, gelli plate printing, reduction printing, stenciling and stamping.
